Smartify Software Solutions has been delivering custom made CBT packages to assorted clients from Defense and other Industries since the last 6 years to meet their training needs. Computer-Based Training (CBT) is used to enhance the efficacy of training within limited time and resources. A CBT can be more specifically called an Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI).

CBTs are in fact the most time efficient and cost effective Training Aids for Defense and other manufacturing industries OEM’s. These trainings help customers train their team in tight schedules within a limited time and can cover the depth of topics in a given program with any number of people.

In a traditional training programme there is a high chance of missing some topics due to delay in time or missed when trying to explain other topics. Computer Based Trainings are well planned based on Course Time and Course Structure, this helps to cover all the topics and can be reviewed any number of times without losing the track of the course.

Computer-Based Training (CBT) are designed with clear and concise instructional guidance, that are more learner centric, effective, and are designed to focus on necessary and identified points. This ensures the courses are filled with instructional visual designs, are audio based and covers all the technical information in Graphical Format.

Course Management & Tracking

Courses in the CBT are structured and time based. Users can easily plan the course based on the course structure represented by a tree menu in CBT. In the tight schedules also the course can be planned easily as the content is designed with fixed time and position in the CBT.

Graphical Representation of content

Course is Presented in words and pictures in graphical format with animations, hotspots, videos etc… rather than textual content to create interest and easy of understanding to the user
Each Course of the section is clearly narrated without deviating from the Technical Information with the combination of Graphical, textual, audio and Video based
3D and 2D Animations helps users to get in details about functionality and procedure of the internal objects of the system which is very hard to explain in traditional mode of training

Personalization of Content

Content can be Presented in custom styles which is understandable to user without changing the technical rather than the formal style

Audio Narration

Content in each slide is narrated with Voice Over which helps users to follow the flow of content and animations with less effort of the user to understand the concept.

OST

OST stands for ON Screen Text, which is displayed below each slide, the voice over is followed by the OST.

Assessments

Quizzes or Assessments can be planned at the end of the CBT, which helps the trainer to assess how much knowledge has been gained by the trainee in the training session.

References

The Raw Documents are uploaded in CBT to have reference to the original data so that user can not deviate from the training session

Our Process

Analysis Phase

In this phase our instructional designers analyze the users of the CBT, Knowledge and Skills of users, Gain Knowledge on the target System / Subject, plan the Course Objectives & Tasks, Time frames and other crucial factors that contribute to the success of the course.

Prototype Phase

In this phase our Instructional Designers and Visual Designers work on the framework and structure of the CBT as follows

Instructional Designers capture required Documents, Images, Videos, Drawings and gain information from SMEs about the System/ Subject.
Instructional Designers Study the Course and prepare Course Structures(TOC) and Script for each session of course and Storyboards, takes approval from the end client/OEM’s.
Visual Designers work on the creation of the basic framework of graphic user interface, create stylesheets as per the requirements of subject and Client and thereafter takes approval form end client/OEM’s
Visual Designers collects the required Illustrations, Audio files, Videos and other required material from clients.

Development Phase

In this phase our Instructional Designers and Visual Designers work on the Development part of the CBT as follows

Instructional Designers(ID) Guides Visual Designers to create course content based on the prepared script, storyboards.
Visuals Designers Follow the instructions of the ID’s and creates the course
Visuals Designers creates the course content in graphical format which includes Video editing, Preparing Drawings/ graphical objects, Preparing the Illustrations and other visual aids based on the scripts and storyboards

Implementation Phase

In this phase our team works on the completion of the CBT

Visuals Designers integrate the prepared content into CBT Framework along with audio integration as per the Course structure designed by the ID’s
All the videos, drawings/ graphical objects, Illustrations and others are integrated to produce the final output in a Graphically Interactive format.
Produced output is dumped into a single project and is delivered to the client at the end for review.
Internal QC will be conducted by the Instructional Designers and QC team for technical and framework related Quality Checking.

Review Phase

Review phase is carried out in two ways

i) Reviewing the Technical Content and Providing the feedback to the Instructional Designers(ID’s).

ii) Reviewing the graphical data, framework and providing the feedback to Visual Designers.

In this phase the customer/OEM’s Review the data and give feedback to the developers.
Corrections and Modification are carried out by Instructional Designers and Visual Designers, Internal QC will be done.
Submit the output for review and approval

Deployment

Deployment phase consist of delivering the final output to the customer/ OEM’s in below steps

Approved content bundle is encrypted by the developers.
Encrypted content is Copied to DVD’s and are delivered to the Customers in desired format.
